First Hair Cut

After 2 years of hold out, we finally broke down and had Cole's hair cut.  At a rate of one haircut every other year, we should get him out of the house with 9 haircuts in total... and the next 8 will be performed by Dada.  Cole was about as good as you could hope for, but he also had a truck to sit in, so life was good.

Here's a couple photos from the night before so you can see how ridiculous his hair was getting.

Check out that mullet...

And after.  A much happier and more handsome little man.

Happy 2nd Birthday Cole!

Cole had his second birthday a couple of weeks back and as usual we are late in posting.  But we weren't late in celebrating!  For the second year in a row we had a triad of birthday parties including Cade and Oliver, who were both born within a week of Cole.  But this year, instead of trying to host everyone at our house, we took the party to the city and had everyone to a local bouncy house  party place.  It was 2 year old heaven.

Cole did have some friends there, he just chose to spend the afternoon bouncing on his own.  No time for socializing

Dinocake?  Check.

Birthday boys!

The survivors

And three lovely ladies look way to put together for entering two-year-old-hood

Later on, the party resumed at home for some presents

He was very interested in opening presents.

Keeping up the Jensen tradition, Cole got his first basketball hoop.  Rod has got him shooting a dozen free throws a day.

Meanwhile, back in twinland, the boys are starting to act more like brothers

More Pumpkin Patching

We got to visit another pumpkin patch this October with Cole's day care.  So the whole clan headed out to Stocker Farms in Snohomish for some fun.  Cole got to see some of his friends from school and there was lots to play with at the farm.  It was a great day, even with the cold damp weather.

Max and Noah got to wear their Coug and Husky hats, courtesy of the best knitter in Longview, Leslie.  Unfortunately both team lost on Saturday.

Three little pumpkins.

Cole quickly found this station full of pots pans and kitchen utensils for banging around.  Every yard needs one.

Later on that day, Cole's girlfriend Josie stopped by in her WSU cheerleader outfit.  Hard to resist!  We had a great time watching the Cougs get beat up by the Ducks.

The Hadley's Do California

Call us crazy, stupid or both, but we headed to Redlands CA earlier this month for an extended weekend visit to see some of Emily's family.  Cindy was nice naive enough to accompany us on the plane so each adult had one child to look after.  Needless to say we were outnumbered, but we managed to keep everyone (mostly) entertained and under control.

Friday night we got to head to great-grandpa Smith's house and pay a visit.  Here are some photos from here:

Kate and great-grandpa Smith got some good catching up time

Meanwhile Cole drank some milk

Great-grandpa and Noah!

Cindy and her siblings

Saturday we headed over to Aunt Mary and Uncle Randy's for some football watching and catching up with the Jensen family.  Here's a photo of great-grandpa Jensen, his wife Maria and Noah.  Unfortunately, this was the only photo from the day, but we had a great time catching up and getting to know Maria!

Sunday was at the Palmer family farm / pumpkin patch / acres of awesomeness.  Here's Cole wandering through the goat herd.  He was not a fan...

The haystack pyramid on the other hand was great.

And we discovered bouncy houses!  Best toys ever.

Here we are for a group photo

Back to great-grandpa Smith's for Cindy's birthday celebration.  Here's Kate lounging with Max.

Cole got chocolate drunk

Cindy and her dad

And 4 generations of Smiths!

Cindy's sister Kathy and her husband David.  They were great help and lots of fun for Cole too!

And last, but not least, Emily's cousin Jessica, playing with Cole and David.  They managed to get Cole to forever fear the Lego chicken.

6 months + 6 months = 12 months

That math doesn't quite add up, but it sure feels like the twins are growing up fast.  We have had a busy past couple of week, so as usual we're about 2 weeks behind on this post.

The boys had their 6 month check up and everything looked great!  They are gaining weight and height very well and their percentiles are climbing.

We did manage to get ourselves a nice 6 month photo shoot though and some of the photos are below.

Cole found some chocolate somewhere...

But he did get cleaned up and jammed himself between his brothers

Here he is before bedtime getting his noise machine set for some coastal waves and seagulls.
